On a hot sunny day, the heating panels can raise the water temperature to almost 2 times the daily maximum temperature. MySOLAR solar water heater system using aluminum fins in its heating panel can obtain higher temperature.
What is the most basic common way of using MySOLAR solar water heater?
Although MySOLAR solar water heater heats water through natural process, users by switching-on the electric booster can assists the system overall performance (normally applicable during cloudy days or rainy days). The most efficient period for solar heat energy collection on a sunny day is during 10am to 3pm.
During early morning shower, do I have to switch on the booster heater?
No. The booster heater only switch on in case of bad weather or excessive hot water usage during the night before.
Sometimes, the temperature of the morning water seems lower than the evening before. Does this mean that the tank is losing heat?
This phenomenon is referred to as “temperature run down”. This happens when the colder water during the night mixes with the hot water in the top portion of the tank. The tank does not loose heat, however overall temperature will be lower due to this mixing of different water temperature.
Will I still get hot water during rainy days?
If rain continues for a few days, it is necessary to turn the built-in electric heater on. Else, a short period of rainfall should not affect the hot water supply.
MySOLAR solar hot water system saves money when the sun is sunny. Aren’t these savings lost by the operating cost of the electric booster during rainy days?
No, the booster acts as back up. It does not switch on during a typical fine day. It will only operate when the temperature drops below 50 °c, the booster will shut off automatically. With manual over-ride switch, you can control the booster when preferred.
Can I switch on the booster heater on days that I require more than average amount of hot water?
This is a preference of your choice as sometimes it is possible on certain occasion, you need greater usage amount of hot water. In such cases, you can switch the booster heater on.
During a hot and sunny day, but the water is not hot. What is wrong?
